The construction continues the external appearance of the original, with limestone wall areas and brick quoins.
Within this the noise and thermal controls are achieved by mixed construction added to a timber framed core - areas of stone veneer, aerated concrete, insulated voids and double glazed windows.
The western pavilion has a north facing clerestorey for winter heat inflow and air exhaust set back behind a traditional hip roof form.
