Wartenhorst Farmhouse

Emilis Prelgauskas - design elements To the original local heritage listed stone farmhouse, additions to east provides modern family living and service areas. Addition to the west provides new street front appearance and private spaces.
The construction continues the external appearance of the original, with limestone wall areas and brick quoins.
Within this the noise and thermal controls are achieved by mixed construction added to a timber framed core - areas of stone veneer, aerated concrete, insulated voids and double glazed windows.
The western pavilion has a north facing clerestorey for winter heat inflow and air exhaust set back behind a traditional hip roof form.
